Buzick Construction is a regional design-build construction firm with the heart and soul of a family-operated, fourth-generation company.
The company was founded in 1937 by Cliff Buzick, who first visited Bardstown, Ky., as a distillery equipment salesman. Upon discovering that many of his customers didn’t have anyone to install the equipment he was selling them, Buzick moved his family from Louisville to Bardstown and opened a construction business to meet the need.
The company grew and evolved but is still a family enterprise. Cliff’s son, Donald Buzick took over the company and expanded the business into commercial construction. Tom Blincoe married Donald Buzick’s daughter, Donna in 1975 and grew the company even more. Now Tom and Donna’s children, Donald and Laura are poised to lead the company into the future.
While Buzick Construction has strength and specialty knowledge in the distillery industry, our client list has expanded to include many industry giants in a wide range of fields. Today, due to the boom in the Bourbon Industry, the distillery trade accounts for more than half of our contracts. In addition, due to our reputation for quality and integrity we have a high demand from other industries and services in central Kentucky. We are honored and proud that our clients come to us mostly through referrals and repeat services.
Because the company owns much of the construction equipment required and has many staff positions associated with subcontractors, such as steel pre-fabrication crews and plumbers, Buzick Construction can self-perform 70 percent of the work on any project. With the design-build process, the responsibility for the entire job is with the construction firm, saving our clients time and paperwork.
